After know-how was successfully transferred through the BilSAT-1 project (2001-2004), TUBITAK-UZAY started on RASAT, Turkey's first national satellite project, in 2004. RASAT will be the first satellite designed, developed and built by the Space Department of the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK).
