Après le succès du transfert de savoir-faire par l'intermédiaire du projet BilSAT-1 (2001-2004), TUBITAK-UZAY a entrepris en 2004 le projet RASAT, premier projet de satellite national.	After know-how was successfully transferred through the BilSAT-1 project (2001-2004), TUBITAK-UZAY started on RASAT, Turkey's first national satellite project, in 2004.
RASAT sera le premier satellite conçu, développé et construit par le Département spatial du Conseil turc de la recherche scientifique et technique (TUBITAK).	RASAT will be the first satellite designed, developed and built by the Space Department of the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK).
