En 2009, le gouvernement britannique, en coopération avec le British Museum et avec l’aide de la Croix-Rouge et de la National Geographic Society, ont restitué les objets au Musée national de Kaboul.	In 2009, the British Government, in cooperation with the British Museum and with the help of the Red Cross and the National Geographic Society, returned the objects to the National Museum of Kabul.
Il convient de noter qu'en faisant savoir à la Commission qu'il aurait fallu en l'occurrence allouer le montant inférieur, les Gouvernements philippin et pakistanais ont restitué au Fonds d'indemnisation l'excédent accordé antérieurement pour les réclamations en question.
